The X Band press is a great tool used to mimic using a bench shirt. While there is nothing like actually practicing with a shirt, we all know you can't do it every day. Using the X Band Press will allow you to go a little heavier on your benching exercises.

To set this up, se a light band (purple). Fold it in half so that you have created a circle and the band is doubled. Cross the band in the middle so that you can see an "X" (as shown). Put your arms through the band so that the "X" is directly across the front of your chest and the band is behind your triceps. From there, lie on the bench and perform a barbell bench press as you normally would.
