One of my training partners, JD Nelson, competed today at the IPA meet at Showtime Strength and Performance. The owner of the facility and meet director was Nick Showman a long time friend of mine. The venue was good and the equipment was all EliteFTS equipment with calibrated Rogue plates. Judging was fair and consistent too. JD did well squatting 530, benching 365 and pulling 520. This gave him a total PR of 129 pounds. He had more on the bench but got red lights on his 2nd and 3rd attempts for technical reasons. We will get those cleaned up and that will add another easy 40 pounds to his total without even getting stronger.

Overall it was a good day. Another friend of mine, Bruce Mason, did bench only and hit an easy 800. Bruce should easily total over 2,700 at his next full meet.
