So it's been a week since the meet. My body feels really good outside of my left leg. It is not terribly sore but it is just weak and lagging. I haven't done anything lifting wise but I did have a shameful revelation. I went to a friends house for dinner yesterday. He got his son a fancy basketball hoop. He said you think you can still grab rim? I said you bet your ass I can. I ran up, jumped and tried to grab rim on the basketball hoop. I missed terribly bad. I have always been able to grab rim and have done it at 290. Being a short 5'8 fat guy it's always been something I have taking pride in. I Missed so bad it was like my life flashed before my eyes. I am officially a fat powerlifter again!!!! I am not here saying I'm going to go on a diet, do cardio daily and drop to 231 again But I do need to be able to run and jump without killing myself .

I went to the YMCA Saturday. I did the treadmill.

10 mins 3.5 speed

60 sec jog at 7.0

60 sec walk at 3.5

3 min cool down from 3.0-2.0 speed.

I repeated this 5 times. My hr was at 190 and I again was reminded of how un athletic I have become. Damn and you would think putting on size 40x30 pants each day would have had an effect lol.

Today I decided to see what else I sucked at. I did up downs, burpees and jumping jacks with the kids. Up downs and burpees were terrible. I essentially fell gently to the ground in fear of breaking something and them slowly dragged my self back up to do it again. I did 5 sets of 10. Burpees weren't gonna happen with the quad. I tried them but it wasn't happening. Jumping jacks made me feel like an idiot so I did 1 set of 20 and drank a beer after wards to bring balance back to my life. I have some work to do.
