8/3- Back and Bis with the wifey
I’m pretty sure this is the first time I’ve referred to Trinity as my wifey. Anyway, my regular training partners were gone again so she agreed to join me for motivation. Other than trying to talk to me in the middle of my sets things went well and I appreciate her support.
8/2- Bench and Viking Presses w/videos
I'm trying to save my shoulders (specifically my rotator cuffs not cups as I’ve heard people like to refer to them) while still getting some decently heavy work in. This is a good combo for low end work.
8/1- Raw Deadlifts w/video
Although my hamstring seems to be almost completely healed, I neglected to realize how well the Home GHRs work to rehab through injuries due to the unique ability to incorporate a push up for assistance.
7/29- Raw Rep Bench Day and achieving balance
I'm a big believer in striving for balance in every aspect of your life. If you put too much into one aspect, you're destined to fail in another.
7/28- Raw Cambered Bar Squats w/video
Incorporating more raw work while still rotating through the varied ROM of the M2 Method is going well.
7/27- Accessory Work- Back and Bis
Through the years in this sport I have learned a great deal from various training methods, met and formed long lasting friends, as well as learned the importance of balancing life, work, and training.
7/25- Raw Deadlifts and another unique exercise on the Home GHR w/videos
This is another unique exercise option that can be performed on the Home GHR that I’ve seen numerous OBB members perform so I thought I’d give them a try.
7/19- Raw and Catapulted Benching w/video
I was happy with this since for some reason I struggled with 365 for a single off of the 2 board last week.

We hope to see you there!
7/18- Deadlifts off 2” Blocks and Raw Speed Squats w/video
I haven’t done speed squats in a long time, and haven’t done them raw in even longer. Although it wasn’t much weight I was happy with my speed.
7/14- Buffalo Bar Squats w/video
That was good enough for today. I’m happy to be working back up to some decent training weights.
7/12- Raw Bench
This was the first time I’ve benched 275 off of my chest without using the foam/manpon in a while so here’s to small victories.
7/11- Raw Deadlifts, Raw Squats and April Harper squatting with the OBB ...
These handles are very versatile, but work especially well for squatting without shoulder pain which is what I primarily designed them for.
7/7- Cambered Bar Squats w/video
I went significantly heavier than I did the last time off of this box height, so things are moving in the right direction.
7/6- Accessory work and video of my amazing Dragon Flags
Maybe they’re not that amazing, but I was happy I could still do them. They’re pretty difficult.
7/5- Heavy Raw and Catapulted Bench w/video
405 is the most I’ve done off of the boards in the Catapult in a while. It felt relatively easy but I got over zealous with 425.
7/4- 4th of July Deadlifts w/video
I was finally able to get some deadlifting in after partially tearing my hamstring while taking prednisone and training for the APF Nationals. I still kept it relatively light to play it safe.
7/1- High Rep Upper Accessory
Trinity and I trained together today since none of our regular training partners were able to make it in. It’s nice that after all these years we can still train together without arguing haha. I know that training together doesn’t usually go well for a lot of couples.
6/30- Cambered Bar Low Box Squats w/video
Everything felt good today with no hamstring discomfort at all. Things seem to be getting back on track.
6/28- Raw and Catapulted Heavy Bench w/video
I really like using the Catapult as an alternative to shirted benching to protect my shoulders and handle more weight.

This is the first time I've used the OBB Power Handles with the Buffalo Bar and they worked great.
6/24- Raw Rep Bench and more variety with the OBB Power Handles w/video
Although I designed the The OBB Power Handles primarily for lifters who had difficult getting their arms behind the bar to squat there really are endless exercises that can be performed with them.
6/23- My first real squat training day since APF Nationals w/video
My hamstring held up fine so things are improving.
6/22- Raw and Catapulted Benching w/video
I plan to stick with benching in the Catapult, in place of the shirt, for a while.

1 Cup Fair Life Lactose free milk 1 scoop of Emergent Nutritions’s Synergy-XP 2 Tbsp of Apple Sauce (for the pectin for soluble fiber) 2 Tbsp Greek Yogurt ½ a frozen banana 1 tbsp local honey Here's what goes into my morning shakes. As many of you know, I have UC which is an autoimmune […]
6/17- Upper Body Circuit
Along with running the gym and training the most clients I've had in a while I've also been working on another non-training related ebook as well as another product that will be great for both home and commercial gym powerlifters for many purposes. I'll keep you updated.
6/14- Raw Catapulted Benching, a short vaca, and training plans
I have been competitively powerlifting for over 20 years. Within that time I have competed raw, single ply and multi ply. I hold the highest all time total of 1930 at 148, the third highest total of 2045 at 165 and have broken over 35 world records, over 25 of which I still hold. Through […]
2016 APF Equipped Nationals — Qualifying for WPC Worlds
What I overcame for this meet is far more than I have for any other.
5/20- Bench Rep Deload, 1 Week out from the APF Equipped Nationals
Everything felt good today. Then the next day my right elbow tendinitis was acting up (which hasn’t bothered me in months). The next couple of posts will just show the very minimal work we did this week (the week of the meet).
5/19- Squat Deload, 1 week out from the APF Equipped Nationals
It seems it takes a village to handle a lifter. I’m happy to have so many friends who are willing to help.
5/16- Deadlift Deload w/video, 1 Week out from the APF Equipped Nationals
Just went up to around 70% percent today for an easy double. My hamstring still feels fine so hopefully everything will hold up for the meet.
More positive feedback on the OBB Power Handles:
"I got to try them out this morning.....great stuff!"
5/13- Raw Bench Rep Deload, 2 Weeks out from the APF Equipped Nationals
Nothing crazy, just trying to keep everything working without placing excessive stress on my shoulders.

We’re all feeling pretty beat up at this point and are ready to deload and take some time off.

Due to my previous issues with swelling of my hands due to my autoimmune issue I had avoided doing direct bicep or grip work for a while. I was happy to see that my strength has been maintained.

The openers are all done. It's time to rest up for the meet now.

Today was a good last heavy pulling day. Jeff and Neal did well and I at least know that I should be good for a halfway decent pull.

I’m feeling better, but it seems I have one strike after another against me for this meet. Either way, I plan to finish what I started.

I’ve had my share of set backs this training cycle, and they don’t seem to be ending, but things are still on track.
5/2- Deadlifts w/team video, 4 Weeks out from the APF Equipped Nationals
As planned I stuck with speed pulls and will until I don’t notice any discomfort in my hamstring. Jeff “Doc” Sevor is still doing well working with his wider stance and Neal came very close with a big PR attempt of 740.
4/29- Bench stability, accessory work and Oom Doe, 5 weeks out from the ...
On Thursday I tested and moved up another belt level for the second time in just 4 months. It feels good to have a sense of accomplishment in something other than just Powerlifting.

I narrowed my stance slightly to reduce the hamstring recruitment, but still felt a twinge and called it there.
4/26- Single Ply Bench w/video, 5 weeks out from the APF Equipped Nationals
I struggled a little with the lockout, but didn’t realize until later that I was actually using one of my back up shirts that doesn’t fit quite as well. My shoulder also held up well so I’m happy with it.
4/25- Squats w/team video, 5 Weeks out from the APF Equipped Nationals
Dr. Jeff “The Stork” Sevor is doing a great job of maximizing his leverages with a wider stance and is looking good to hit a big PR. Neal Cotton hit a solid 920 with reverse mini bands and is looking good to hit a grand in the near future. My hamstring held up well so things are at least moving
4/22- Stability Bench and accessory work w/video, 6 weeks out from the A...
Today worked out well to get some good pressing in without causing any shoulder aggravation.
4/21- PRP and speed pulls, 6 weeks out from the APF Equipped Nationals
If you ever end up with a soft tissue injury (especially a partial tear like I had) and have access to PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) therapy then I strongly recommend you incorporate it.
4/19- Single ply Bench, 6 Weeks out from the APF Equipped Nationals
My shoulders are continuing to hold up so it’s a step in the right direction.
4/18- Equipped Squats onto a High Box w/team video, 6 Weeks out from the...
Although this has probably been one of the worst training cycles I’ve ever had due to the crazy random autoimmune swelling I’ve had and the subsequent partial hamstring tear due to the prednisone I was taking to treat it, I’m not giving up.

What do you think, would that make a good T-shirt? The rhyming trend seems to be the way to go right now and I need to make some money somehow haha. This pic is an update on how my hamstring is looking. As you can see, Tank is very interested in it. Thanks to Dr. […]
