Wk7 Day1: Back #UnderTheBar
Small progression in adductor injury huge step in getting back to training and meet prep.
Wk6 Day3: Deadlift 3RM... but conventional
There is always an alternative movement that can be done to train around injury, especially when a meet is coming up. This was my replacement to sumo deadlifts.
Wk5 Day1: 5RM and my back is done
that back tightness you get when something fire's off under a heavy squat to compensate for your mess up.
Wk4 Day2: I LOVE when I read training program's wrong
Reading is hard, then again, so is benching for me.
Wk3 Day1: Dynamic Effort with Spider Bar?!
Do some speed squat's, now do some with wrap's, now do some weightlifting style, now do ... ok good, we are done
Wk3 Day3: Speed Dead's, NO chain's will slow me
Christian is currently prepping for the King and Queen of Spring RPS Powerlifting Meet hosted by NBS Fitness. This prep is under elitefts Columnist John Gaglione. Follow as they move through and around an adductor strain.
"I love Incline and Overhead" - No One ---- (video)
I want you to choose the two lifts you hate the most. Good, now think of the chances that your coach put's those together as your first two main movement's and you have never mentioned them to be your worst or least favorite ....
"Heel's" & Benching, Worst of both World's
I almost made the 12 days of christmas cut with this bench mishap.
High Bar'n and Arch Bench'n
That moment when you are ready to unleash all you know to other's in an atmosphere that is thriving to grow.
Snap Crackle and Pop
overtime I see incline bench press prescribed in my workout I have many thought's of not coming in that day...
High Bar, Weightlifting thing's, blah.... and bench??
Squatting like an olympic lifter reminds me why I never try and do it.
It has been a minute, here is why!
I lost today, I actually just dropped the weight in half, didn't even do my last two sets!!!
Trying to find the Void...
The feeling you get when you cannot get into the void, I just couldn't find it today
Leap of Faith, From Moderate weight to Heavy As Hell
That moment when you unknowingly have someone make you take a 75lb jump...
All the Low Back Pump's
14 sets, 56 rep's later, ok the program say's do good-morning's.... WHAT?!?!
Duffalo Bar + Average Band's = weight 1, Anto 0
So after being informed by my EliteFTS teammate Brandon Smitley that this bar weighs 55lbs my ego was not hurt as bad. Top set was suppose to be 365, I miss loaded and we had 375 (only got one rep) dropped it to 345 and was able to finish all sets and reps. Being 20lbs […]
Killing Conventional, Stiffly Struggling
adding band's to a normal style deadlift, FINE. Adding band's to a stiff leg deadlift, COME ON!
Helping hands & Failing Bench's
The first day you miss a lift in a training cycle is always frustrating. The lingering thought about it is always motivating
Soul Sucking and the Cambered Bar
Band's are a special kind of hell, I feel every time you stand up into them they are steeling your soul. The longer you stand against them at full extension is a great way to measure your manhood.
Upper Body Pump Session and Letting Go
You know how everyone alway's say's, "animal's know when something is going on?". Yeah I experienced that today and these two knuckle head's made it difficult!
Band's will make you shake, not dance, unless shaking is how you da...
Trying something new, let's make training more interactive!
Incline Bench, I Hate Incline
Incline Bench is this weird realm where its not so much a bench and not so much an OH press but a lot of suchk
Fat Baring, Chain Clanging, slow third reppin' having A$$
That feeling you get when you haven't done an exercise in a long time and you body pause's and ask's, "what the F*&^ are you doing?"
No heavy squats but all the lower volume
finding ways to train around injury will make you a better competitor and coach.
Broken back (lower) so upper pump, right?
No need to skip an upper body pump day just cause your low back want's to be a little B***H. The pump is the cure ... right?
Bench Rep Day
My kryptonite in all of powerlifting, the bench press, attempts to defeat me again doing a heavy set of four.
Reppin' out on squats!
The past four year's I have never in my life taken a heavy load and done more than three to four reps with it. My coach decided to shake things up and have me go for NINE!
Deadlift's from a deficit that is almost as tall as I am.
Equation to wreck me on deadlifts = Conventional + Deficit's + Volume.
Max Effort Bench Reps, Banded Bro Session's and Car deadlifts
How does it go when you go for an eight rep max bench in the AM and a AMRAP car deadlift in the evening?
