Sick as a Dog
I have no freaking update. I feel like I'm going to die. Please go get your goddamn flu shots, I didn;t this year and I feel like hell. If you haven't ever watched this documentary, you should. ALong with some new ones on netflix like "Born Strong" and "Eddie: Strongman"
The No Days Off Crowd Are Wrong
Hydration, nutrition, sleep, and active rest are just as, if not more important than your training "program"
It's Trendy To Be Cynical
I get it. We get angry. But how about we focus on improving rather than scaring newcomers away?
Have RESOLVE, Not RESOLUTIONS
The world will beat you down. Your friends will beat you down. You will screw up and you will fail. None of that is permanent though, and if you continue on and be what you were meant to, it will not matter in the end because you will be victorious.
Merry Christmas, Meatheads!
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Wonderful Spaghetti Monster Day, whatever!
Low Bodyweights, 198 at the US Open, and Thank You

Setting Records and PRs At Local Meets? You Might Just Be A Punk
Me yelling about how people are scared to go to real competitions, and how powerlifters need to make it a real SPORT not just a numbers game chasing arbitrary ATWRs some dude with a day job threw on a website that looks like it was built on a Linux.
Just because you suck, doesn't mean you have to
It's all about your outlook. Compare, "I suck" to "I can do better"

A Huge Amount of Bench Volume 455x5 Bench
I hit 455 for 4 sets of 5 and just kept going with spoto press. I tend to think that constant tension, is incredibky hard to recover from, but incredibly beneficial for a raw bencher. https://www.instagram.com/p/BafI-sdD_h6/?taken-by=joesullivanpowerlifter

Raw Nationals a Lot of Fun

Physical Courage vs Moral Courage 755x5 Squat
Standing up with 900lbs is one thing. Standing up to someone else with convictions as strong as your own, is something different entirely.
Close Grip Bench Gains
Close grip is one of the best things you can progressively overload to get a stronger bench press!
Power Was Out But I'm Not
Outside stressors are unavoidable but sometimes you must proceed through them anyway.
