Why? Because I like to train. Should I? Probably not, but hey, it works for me and that's good enough for me to wrap my head around.
On any given Saturday (or a rare Sunday but not both) I'll invite a small group of my lifters to come in early and get a Max Effort Squat/ Deadlift day in. This also separates the group into what I call "Tiers" for the following week, making it easy not to have any congestion and thus back people up.
The group is mostly made up of people who are advanced and only require the advanced coaching that comes with fine-tuning at the heavier weights. This also is a group that can and will take the more advanced "chirps" or "sarcastic smack" talk that goes on, making it even more fun. (Seriously, not for the faint of heart or even the mildly offended. hahaha)
The atmosphere is not unlike the old "Learn to Train" seminars we held at the "Compound" in Ohio years ago. I digress...
Today was no exception. Even coming off surgery last week, the weight got up there and not a single person wanted to bail on the weight, especially since I didn't even wince as we approached the bigger numbers.
But like Forrest Gump would say, "I'm tired now. I think I'll go home", I'm ready for my first nap and it's only 8:00 A.M. PDT
Have a great Saturday.
