Occasionally, I'll move max effort and dynamic days around just to mess with people. Sometimes, we think that a dynamic day is an "easy" day because of the lighter weight we move. However, I ensure that as we escalate the weight to our working sets, we understand the WHYs of what we are doing.

We want to move the weight with the glorious Eleanore Roosevelt Sexy Speed. In other words, using more muscle than necessary to move the weight that's on the bar. Not JUST ENOUGH, but overspeeding it. That way, when we get back to a "grind", we have the firepower to accelerate a heavier weight.

To me, dynamic work is flat-out cool as shit. I've seen people move a lot of weight over my lifetime. But I was mesmerized by Dave Tate and Jim Wendler's dynamic bench demonstration upon one of the first times meeting those two.

When they blasted the weight (and it wasn't light) and the weights continued as the bar terminated and the sound it made, I was HOOKED! Fuck! That was not just strong, it was stinking ATHLETIC.

Use more muscle than necessary to move the weight. Get used to it!
