I write our daily workout on a whiteboard every morning. The daily plan is based off the monthly objectives which is derived from the yearly goal.

When I see someone doing something outside of the plan, I explain to them my philosophy of baking a cheesecake.

If the cake calls for half of a cup of sugar and YOU decide to put a full cup of sugar in, well...your guess becomes as good as mine as to how it will taste at the end. Is it even cheesecake anymore?

What if putting in the extra stick of butter causes a fire or some other kind of damage? Who's fault is that? Yours or the chef writing the recipe?

When one of my athletes starts to feel incomplete because today wasn't as hard as usual, and then is compelled to dishrag himself/herself, is it MY fault as the coach that the performance during that evening's practice suffers?

People in my gym are paying me for my 50+ years of knowledge and experience because it certainly isn't for the amenities of my facility.

Do what I tell you to do and at the year's end, you will be further than you can imagine AND without getting hurt.
