First day back from my travels and first day marking spending some time on my training the next few months. All in all I've lost 15lbs in the last 3 weeks of travel but still wanted to hit some bigger numbers. However the speed parameters that I base my training around require that I move the weight appropriately or I'm not allowed.
This training session I was due to move 2 sets of 4 reps in the .20 to .24m/s range. Most importantly is hitting the 8 rep volume in that range.
845 x 4 planned for set 1 but was .28m/s so I was able to go up.
860 x 4 for set two fell at .26m/s which is close enough to count and allowed me to bump it up.
I was having some issues with my straps however so I changed out to a couple pairs and hit some reps with them. But still slippage so I cut the sets short.
885 x 1
885 x 2
Then last set of straps... elite FTS Super Heavy worked best for me. The rubber infused ones made the bar to big for me and also the bar squished around more in them. The second generation wraps I had were 1.5" which were to narrow.
885 x 4 @ .22 M/S
Think I'll be over 900 for rep work in the following weeks.
