Friends,
They told me that I was stupid.
I was diagnosed and placed in special education.
They told me that I wouldn’t finish high school and I barely did.
I went on to flunk out of college.
I was told that I would never make a life “lifting those weights.”
I learned to bust my ass Under The Bar. I learned to strain Under The Bar. I learned to progress Under The Bar. I learned to fight Under The Bar. I learned to give all that I had Under The Bar. I learned that it is NEVER easy Under The Bar.
I got strong(er) Under The Bar.
Are there others like me out there?
Maybe you?
Trust me, you're not the only stupid fuck that got their asses kicked and picked on every day. You're not the only one who was told that they didn't have the ability. You're not the only one with a fucked up history. You're not the only one who's been in some bad shit. You're not the only one who could only count on the person in the mirror. You're not the only one with "issues." You're not the only...
Maybe we found our "ability" Under The Bar. Maybe it was always there, but it took that one PR to show us. Perhaps the weights taught us how to work hard, strain, endure, and deal with all of the bullshit. Maybe there's more to this "training" thing than stupid posts on Instagram. Maybe it's fun for some, but it's how others BECOME who they are.
I graduated from college and have been working in this industry in one capacity or another since 1986.
I have made a living "lifting those weights."
Don't tell me what I can or can't fucking do!
I won't, EVER, fucking back off...
... and neither should you.
From,
That stupid fuck who wasn't supposed to finish high school.
