As you know I commute to and fro via my bicycle (not an electric bike either). It's quite easy to do with the abundant bike paths and right of way.
The weather is also very forgiving as it is rarely anything other than GREAT.
That's not to say it doesn't get chilly or rainy, which it was this morning.
As I headed out for the morning commute to the gym it started to sprinkle. "Eh, not bad. If you can safely take a shower without melting you can go play in the rain." Moving further into the commute as I rounded one of the twists and turns in the road the raindrops became a bit larger and more frequent.
Still, I think, "hell, I'm 1/3 of the way there, I'm not going to get any dryer."
With that the skies opened up and had me questioning whether I should have gotten started on that Arch they talk about and that's when the thought popped into my head about being COMFORTABLE and how it wrecks progression.
I'm not only talking about physical comfort, although we sit on a couch and waste a lot of precious time saying, "Wow, I sure am comfortable. I'll sit right here all day if I have to." and DO!
But think about how we get comfortable with people too. In relationships of all sorts, we get comfortable and retard the progression of it and act confused when the person breaks it off or "ghosts" you.
Things need to be just a little bit uncomfortable to get people to do something to further the progressions.
Remember...
Comfort is the enemy of progression
