These are a great progression to help athletes get better at pushups who can’t do them off the floor correctly. Simply start higher in the rack and progress them lower. I once had a coach tell me their athlete couldn’t do push-ups right so they were gonna do push-ups every day before practice...the push-ups never got better. If I want to squat 500 but can’t yet, I'm not going to get there by going to the gym every day and attempting 500. There is a progression to everything. Follow it.

Your athletes should have more of a neutral spine when performing these. I’m kind of stuck like this and don’t really care what my hips are doing. The big thing is, don’t let your athletes hips sag way down. Hit the bar on their upper stomach and don’t let them flare their elbows just like on their bench.
