This is a box jump variation that is a more taxing than seated box jump due to the Footslam. These are typically used as a transition from box jumps to reactive jumps because of the ‘shock’ to the lower leg from the Footslam.

Use the same cues and any other jump. Knees out, jump hard, land soft, land w knees out...only difference is the athlete pick their feet up and tries to slam them into the ground before they take off.

One adjustment that should have been made is the box our athlete starts on should be a little higher. The low box is making it difficult for our athlete to pick her feet up and slam them hard enough. Not that this variation is wrong, but in general that’s what we would do.

Volume progression: 3x5 on week one and slowly increase the volume as the athlete can handle up as high as 8x5.
