In today’s log I am going to share a video from a seminar we did for beginners covering Deadlift Basics: Lats, neck and grip. In it we break down basics on how to utilize them optimally. The video is from my premium content site, TPSMethod.com and is a part of a multi video series.

Coach Russ Smith leads the session along with Coach Cody Nadeau, Coach Candace Puopolo with yours truly as a back up.

Russ and the team lead a group of beginners through some of our basic drills on lats, neck and grip in the deadlift while giving a lot of individual coaching. I suggest that you watch the whole video and listen to the cues.

Watching beginners get coaching often makes a lightbulb go off in the heads of more experienced lifters.

Why?

I am not 100% sure, but probably because they frequently make mistakes that we forget about.

Anyway, the importance of lats, neck and grip and grip, and putting it all together can’t be underrated.
