I have always been a hard worker. Most people who come to this site are. Dave has told us the people that come to Elitefts put training as one of the top three to four priorities in their lives.
If you're like me one of your biggest fears is not to be able to train. But does not being able to train really set us back? I hate taking time off, but through injuries, it has been forced upon me many times.
So I have realized one of my biggest fears a number of times. And each time, I ended up coming back better. With a number of my surgeries, I have been out for months on end. It all comes back in short order.
Nowadays I get dinged up a lot. At 52 with 37 hard years of training under my belt, it's bound to happen. This week I decided not to work around my most recent injury at all. I just got on the bike and the treadmill.
Guess what, I am feeling much better. My injury and my overall wellness. Considering I have been laid up for months on end, I can't believe I have been so freaked out about just taking a week off.
The moral of the story, if you think you need it, don't be afraid to take a week off.
