I’ve got a highly effective new variation for you today to build a bigger, stronger Squat, Deadlift and booty!  Goodmornings with the Dr. Squat Strap by Spud Inc. are showing a lot of promise with my lifters.

I love Goodmornings as a primary movement, a secondary movement or as a third. The smash the lower back, hamstrings and glutes when done properly and this adds up to more weight lifted on Squats and Deadlifts, plus, they build a big strong ass and lower back. Who can argue with that?

By adding in the Dr. Squat Strap from Spud Inc. you have a real lower back builder.

Why?

The Dr. Squat Strap from Spud Inc. is designed intentionally to put more of the load on the spinal erectors. It does this with the unique strap set up that comes up across your back and puts the weight close to your body in the front.  It is important to make sure you put the shoulder straps under the Velcro chest strap to get the full effect!

I’ve been using these with my multi ply lifters and they LOVE them. My RAW lifters will be getting a heavy dose of these too soon.

We have found two things about Goodmornings with the Dr. Squat Strap

1. If you do them by opening the knees hard as you would in a squat they really hammer the entire posterior chain and hit the erectors hard.

2. If you don’t open the knees and just hinge back, you get much more hamstring.

Both variations work well and I suggest using the one that addresses your weakness more specifically.

If you have weak hamstrings, use the hinge only.

But, if you really want the full effect and have your entire backside get strong(er), open the knees.

We haven’t used Goodmornings with the Dr. Squat Strap as a secondary exercise yet. A secondary exercise is one that you do after your primary one for the day and is commonly called Assistance work.

So far, we have used Goodmornings with the Dr. Squat Strap as a third for higher reps. This is commonly called Accessory work.
