I'm really a loner, I don't have many (if any) close friends outside of my wife. I spend almost 100% of my down time by myself usually thinking, thinking about my gym usually. One of the big buzzwords that you keep hearing all over the place now is "passion". You can do all things if you have true passion, you gotta have passion, he/she has so much passion. I had passion, lots of it, passion was what I used to start and build this gym. But it has been replaced with something else, passion's ugly cousin, "stubbornness". The MAIN reason I now keep a business that makes no money alive is that I don't want to see this world that I created die, I couldn't live thinking that all these people that come here to hang and bang every day would be cast into the shitty world of watered down versions of gyms that is left out there. The big question is, what is better to have, passion or blind stubbornness? I'm sure to a lot of people passion seems to be positive whereas stubbornness is a purely negative way to be.
You could almost look at it like this, Hitler, as evil as he was, had a burning passion and with it convinced a LOT of people follow him to the gates of hell. It was a pretty sick fucking misdirected passion but it was his true passion. The people that stood against him were stubborn, their backs were against the wall and they didn't back down and in the end were victorious. So is better to be passionate or stubborn when it comes to business, athletics, relationships, Etc?
Yeah, I'm pretty fucking stubborn but I think I'm stubborn for a great cause. At least I'm not stubborn like one of those hoarder retards like you see on that TV show that refuse to not live on top of a pile of my own smelly garbage. So what do you think? You are all lifters and athletes, what drives you to train, strive to be the best, defeat all comers? Is it the passion to be the best, inspire people, give back to your sport? Or are you stubborn, so stubborn that you refuse to lose, you keep training and winning so you can show everyone how great YOU are and everyone else can go fuck themselves? Which is it? Is one worse than the other? We are all free to do things for our own reasons.
