Up today is Old Man Conjugate: Cossack Squats. I don’t care how you do them, just do them. Cossack Squats need to be a part of everyone’s program if you are capable of doing them.
Why?
Great question.
Cossack Squats directly target:
- Single leg strength
- Mobility in the hips, knees, ankles and adductors
- Stability in the hip/knee/ankle complex
- Flexibility in the glutes, adductors, hamstrings and overall lower body
- Balance
That’s a pretty solid list of why you should do them.

Instead of writing 1000+ words on how to do them, how about you just watch a short video filled with instruction, regressions and progressions.
In the Personal Training/Strength and Conditioning world, regressions are easier versions of an exercise if you cannot do the classic one. Progressions are harder ones.
So, don’t fret if you think you can’t do a Cossack Squat.
After watching this video you will be able to do some version of them. And you will reap the benefits.
