I’m going to discuss something that affects many men and has been taboo or just ignored for a long time. We are going to talk about low testosterone. So, in today’s episode of Old Man Conjugate: Low T-Don’t Live With It I’ll tell you how to figure out if it might be affecting you and what you can do to correct it.
Our testosterone naturally declines after age 30 at a rate of about 1% a year, but there are many other reasons why you may have low T including:
- Being a fat bastard
- Using certain drugs/medications that may lower T (steroids, opiates and certain psych meds)
- Chronic medical conditions and/or Inflammatory diseases
- Heavy alcohol consumption
- Bad diet
- Lack of exercise
- Testicular or head injury
- Chemical exposure (like BPA)
- And others
Symptoms of Low T
- Reduced/no sex drive
- Inability to get or maintain a Boner
- Loss of pubic hair or armpit hair
- Depressed mood
- Irritability/mood swings
- Fatigue
- High blood pressure
- Poor cognitive/decline in cognitive function
- New sleep disorders
- LOSS OF MUSCLE MASS
- LOSS OF STRENGTH
- Osteoporosis
- Weight (fat) gain
- Poor concentration
- And there’s more, but I think this is enough.
So, if you have Low T-Don’t Live With It, see a Doctor.
Let’s look at a few different Old Man Conjugate: Low T-Don’t Live With It scenarios.
Low T Scenario A:
You have low T and present with 4 or 5 symptoms. Yet you do nothing to correct it.
And you live miserably.
That’s just fucking stupid. Pardon my adult language.
Low T Scenario B:
You have low T and present with 4 or 5 symptoms but you go see your Doc.
Your Doctor is dead set against using Testosterone replacement because the media told him 'Roid Rage or some other stupid reason not backed in current science.
BUT!
They will give you 3 or 4 other medications to fix some of the symptoms while knowing ZERO about the side affects of the chemical cocktail they prescribe.
Have shitty moods and depression?
Have an SSRI.
Can’t get a boner?
Take a Boner pill.
But don’t take gas station boner pills. That’s a terrible idea.
High blood pressure?
Yup, we have a pill for that.
Can’t sleep?
And yet again, we have a pill for that.
There we have a Doctor giving you four drugs for four symptoms instead of treating the most probable CAUSE of your issues. They also have no knowledge of the long term effects of the interactions of all of these drugs.
And no, this is not far fetched. Our medical system does not treat the cause. It treats the symptom. That’s a problem.
If this is your Doc, get a new one.
Low T Scenario C:
You have low T and present with 4 or 5 symptoms and you go see your Doc. Your Doc orders a blood test and determines that yes you do have low T and he can most likely correct your issues with a simple and inexpensive drug with near zero side effects (Test). Or he suggests that you try a different drug (like Clomid) to see if you can get your T back to normal.
Your Doc also lets you know that it is best to exercise at least 4 days a week, limit booze, and eat a good healthy diet while you go on your new medicine regimen. After a while, it works and you feel AMAZING!
Low T Scenario D:
All of the same symptoms are in play and your Doc will not refer or prescribe.
What options do you have besides living miserably with preventable medical issues?
Well, you could buy T on the street or online, but I strongly advise against that. #1, it’s a crime. #2, you don’t know what you are getting. It’s just a bad idea. Don’t do it.
Or, you could find a reputable Men’s Health Clinic in your area or online. Go see them and get back on track.
There is no reason in 2024 to suffer from the awful effects of Low T. Get it fixed and live a long, healthy and Strong(er) life.
