With losing and keeping off over 130 lbs I know dieting. I have succeeded where most have failed.
In order to lose weight you need to be in a calorie deficit, duh. If your are reading here on Elitefts that means you probably train pretty hard. Training hard on a calorie deficit blows.
Because I want the most energy on my training days I eat at maintenance or a slight surplus on training days. As I keep my protein at around 1.2 grams per lb of bodyweight daily, those extra calories come mostly from carbs to fuel my workouts.
My calorie deficit comes on non-training days. On those days I set my mind right. I frame it like I frame my training. They are gains days. Like I focus on gaining strength and muscle on training days, I focus my mind on making fat loss gains on my low days.
Yeah, I know, this is nothing revolutionary. However, the more bs that gets put out there on media, the more people forget the basics. I almost threw my phone through a wall the other day hearing a commercial on youtube music talk about how important increasing brown fat is. I couldn't hit skip fast enough.
