There’s always something crazy going on in this industry. At any moment, there’s a maniac in a weight room taking a dangerous lift and a shady businessman in an office finding a way to turn dirty profits. The posts you find here in my log are the musings of a mashed-up meathead — the reactions I have as I spend my whole life watching this industry. I will share my thoughts with you here, unedited, uncensored, unfiltered, and Under The Bar. If you are offended by profanity - do not read this.
New Years resolutions.
As I've taken the last couple days off work and spent a little bit more time online - social media - than I actually really would have cared to, I've noticed the trend over the past few days in regards to blog posts, articles, Facebook posts, and other writings across the internet all in regards to people recapping and rehashing 2015.
If you read many of these and from what I've seen almost all of them, you'll see that many people had really good good years. Had a lot of really good things happen to them, when they look back and post on what those things were, it's great to see. Yes, I do understand that it's social media and I understand that people are going to post whatever they want to post. It's fiction, it's not reality, in most cases.
Aside from the point, it still isn't going to take away from the main point that I'm going to try to make with this post. When you read any of these, you're always going to find that they are all sprinkled with adversity. From those that had the greatest years of their life to those that just had a year that was a little bit better than last year, or those that claimed they just had good years, they're also talking and pointing out all the adversity they had to go through.
If you look closer, you're going to find those that had to fight through the greatest adversities of their lives, as they have defined it, are also noting the greatest prosperity and the best year that they've ever had.
Is there a correlation between adversity and prosperity?
I believe there is. I think as you read all of these recounts of 2015, albeit from a business or a personal standpoint, you're going to see the same pattern. Moving forward into 2016, for all you that are hyped up and motivated to come up with all these New Years resolutions, please keep that in mind.
You can have all the greatest intentions, and the greatest intentions are great to have, and you should have, do know to achieve and to obtain these greater things that you're looking to achieve isn't going to be easy. There is going to be adversity that you don't expect.
There will be bad things that are going to happen in 2016 that you don't expect. Just because those bad things, doesn't mean that the good things aren't going to happen. If you're making plans, goals, or resolutions, keep that in mind, so when you hit that first roadblock, which could have already happened, it doesn't mean you can't do what you set out to do, it could actually mean you are on the right path.
