Yes, I missed my flight on the way to Toronto for the SWIS symposium (long story - will post in blog later) and yes I got lost a few times on my way there. Instead of waiting for the next flight that I was told "I might be able to get on" I decided to drive so I had control over if I got there or not.

Those who really know me were not at all surprised by this. I'm dead serious the 4-5 who found out were not shocked at all - just asked when I thought I'd get there.

I get lost driving home from work all the time and only need to make five turns in 12 minutes.

My own kids know if Dad drives he's getting lost.

I will say this... I always arrive.

This used to drive me nuts until about ten years ago. I accepted the fact your journey may not go as planned, you might find yourself in the unknown, you will make some wrong turns and it may take longer than you want but as long as you keep driving and believe you will get there - you always will.

Or it could be you just don't pay attention and get fucking lost all the time.

I go with the first one when I explain this to my kids.

Oh, I did make it! I think I even drove through snow.
