I had such a good time Hang Cleaning that I decided to do them on their own. I also decided to go as heavy as I could without holding my breath/straining. With 165 I found myself doing just that. Not really straining, because it's only 165. But, I caught myself holding my breath through the pull. It probably isn't even close to the type of strain the doctors are talking about, but if I allow myself this leeway, I will abuse it.
The goal now, like my other main lifts, is to try to increase my numbers without holding my breath. So, I have a new lift to work on this summer.
Could you tell us what's currently on your playlist? You mentioned good music but failed to let us know what music you are talking about. Thanks.
The selections range from Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Jerry Jeff Walker, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Johnny Cash, Drive-by Truckers, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Whisky Myers, Turnpike Troubadours, Jamey Johnson, Black Sabbath, Pantera, G&R, Motley Crue, Tool, Clutch, Sleep, Zakk Wylde, Aaron Lewis (Staind and his country stuff), Alice in Chains, Neil Young, Skynyrd, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, The Kinks, Mountain (gotta love Mississippi Queen), ZZ Top, CCR, David Allen Coe, Hank Jr., Miranda Lambert, Pistol Annie's, Deanna Carter, The Band...
If you're a country Rock fan I recommend the Drive-by Truckers. To me they're a mix of The Rolling STones, Tom Petty and Lynyrd Skynyrd (they have 3 singers/songwriters and each guy has a different style).
Whisky Myers, Turnpike Troubadours and Cross Canadian Ragweed have an "old country" feel, like Jamey Johnson. If you haven't heard Aaron Lewis' country stuff, it's got the same feel.
If you explore any of these here are my recommendations:
DBT: Gravity's Gone, 18 Wheels of Love, Dead, Drunk and Naked, Zoloft...
Whisky Myers: Ballad of a Southern Man
Cross Canadian Ragweed: The Boys from Oklahoma
Aarom Lewis: Country Boy, Party in Hell, Nothern Redneck...
Go forth and listen to excellent music while you lift.
