Being in my fifties feeling good has become a priority of mine. Pain is a young person's game. The nagging aches were really getting to me.
I am putting a great deal of time and effort into feeling well. None of this is revolutionary. I am a big fan of low hanging fruit. In other words, you don't need a hyperbaric chamber if you are not sleeping well.
Sleep is huge of course. I prioritize getting at least seven hours of sleep a night and often eight or more. Part of that relies on me setting up my bed with a bunch of pillows to prop my back, neck, and arms up a bit. If I don't do that I'll turn to my side which causes me to wake up with pain.
I'd be remiss if I didn't say I eat well and stay very hydrated. Those are just givens to feel well regardless of the time of day.
Here's the difference maker for me over the last two weeks. I have been foam rolling shortly before bed. Again, nothing revolutionary. There's not a set super 16 or any other routine. I just get on it and do whatever feels good at the time. Mostly my neck, upper back, and shoulders.
I know this has been a huge difference maker becuase the other night I didn't do it and I woke up achy and tight which was my normal. The last two nights I got back to the rolling and I felt like a million bucks upon awaking.
If you feel beat up in the morning give it a shot.
