Really.
You do.
The Turkish Get Up is one of the best exercises you can do for:
- Strength
- Mobility
- Stability
- Warm Up
The Powerlifters are probably laughing their asses off now, but shouldn't be.
The TGU ain't easy and it has a ton of benefits.
- Some of them are:
- Restores mobility to the shoulders and hips
- Builds massive strength in the torso
- Builds incredible stability in the shoulders, wrists and torso
- Warms up your entire body
It is excellent as an "ab" exercise, but it might be even better as a warm up.
Don't think so?
Try it out.
Your whole body will be moving better in just a few sets.
If you have never done them, we have beginners do them with their shoe.
Take off your shoes, balance one on your knuckles and don't add weight until you can get up and down without dropping the shoe.
Sounds tedious and frustrating and it is but it works.
You'll learn to stay tight and aligned through the whole thing,
How many reps?
The best amount.
One.
Do one each side, rest a bit and do it again.
Three or four sets and you are ready to go.
