I guess it's heresy to like the Leg Press these days. But I was talking to a very well respected strength coach (one that many of you know very well) who is friends with an older Eastern European Olympic Lifting coach. In talking to him, the OL coach mentioned how the leg press was a very LARGE part of their strength training arsenal. Makes you wonder, doesn't it.
So my tip for you is this: Just because Johnny Chalks-a-lot says the leg press is bad, it really isn't. I used to have that line of thinking, but realize that this piece of equipment does have merit. The squat is still king but the leg press does have some royal blood.
How to do the exercise: Just sit down and press. The featured leg press that you see in the picture is the Monster Mondo Leg Press from EFS. I dare you to find a beefier leg press.
