There are going to be highs and lows in this sport, just like in life. The most important thing I've learned is to never give up. Those who do will never succeed and those who don't will know that even if they fail, that they gave it their all. - Brian Schwab
Throughout all my years in the gym there has always been one saying that would pop up every time someone would be running their mouth about what they were "going to" do or when speaking about something someone else did in the gym. While a very simple statement, it carried a giant meaning.
"Take it to the Meet"
This was basically saying it doesn't mean shit what you do in the gym, what somebody else says, or what THEY did in the gym. What matters is what you do on the platform, Take it to the meet!
The Aim of elitefts.com Inc. is to Live - Learn & Pass On. This has been the vision and driving force behind elitefts.com Inc. since it was founded in 1998.
1. To live life to its fullest and compete to the best of your abilities.
2. To learn from others and yourself.
3. To pass on the value in what you know.
When you pass on you teach, you begin to gain a deeper understanding of your craft; with this understanding comes mastery; with mastery come excellence; with excellence comes responsibility. This heightened responsibility means your purpose to LIVE becomes stronger, exposing the need for more education that once again needs to be passed on to be mastered.
At elitefts.com we spend SO much time and EFFORT on the educating and passing on aspect that we forget to give credit to the lifting stats of many of our sponsors.
Most people know Brian Schwab from the articles he has written, his popular training log, and the training videos posted within. They also know him from the over 3,000 questions he has answered on the Q&A since joining the team in 2005. They may have his Bench Press DVD, elitefts™ Poster, Bench Press eBook, or his home Glute-Ham Raise. Some may know him from his coaching at our Learn to Train Seminars, or simply for giving tips and advice to lifters of all levels at the meets he puts on, attends, or lifts in.
When I think of Brian, I think about how far he has come since I first met him. He has been able to take his degree in Exercise and Sport Sciences from the University of Florida, his CSCS certification and experience under the bar, and open Orlando Barbell Club where he has created a stock pile of elite lifters, as well as working with clients from every background. I look at the success of all the online clients he works with, the products he has created, and the 3.5 years he has been working with the Special Olympics.
Brian Schwab embodies everything Living, Learning, and Passing On stands for.
Brian has become an ambassador to the sport of Powerlifiting, and someone I am very proud to say represents elitefts™ with the greatest of integrity.
This is what most people see when they think of Brian Schwab, and I am very proud of him for this!
But over the years Brian has taken it to the meet in ways very few will ever achieve. If not already, Brain will be a legend in the sport of Powerlifting.
This is how Brian has and will continue to "Take it to the Meet."
