Training with hook grip isn't something you're able to learn overnight. Many lifters choose to spend the time (and thumb skin) to learn the hook grip for the symmetry of the setup, which allows lifters to avoid the alternate grip that makes lifters more susceptible to biceps and lat tears.
Steve Goggins is amongst the most famous lifters who deadlifts with a hook grip — he has even deadlifted 900 pounds this way.
