How many times have you asked your training group a question and received conflicting answers?
How was my depth?
Training partner 1: “You were right there.” He is probably APF.
Training partner 2: “You were high by two inches.” He is an IPF guy for sure.
Training partner 3: “Buried bro.” He is a SPF.
Clearly, everyone sees things in their own way. Everyone has there own definition of deep, paused, locked out, or hitched.
What can we do to be sure our lifting goes the way we want it to on the platform?
Invest in a camera, maybe two.
I always ask my guys what they thought, but on the big lifts, I refer to my cameras; two as of late. I place one in the front and one on the side.
I alone, have the responsibility to bring the lift to the platform and perform it to my own satisfaction. In order to do that, I film almost everything in the gym. I work a lift until I’m happy with what I see, not from what I hear.
If you want to be truly satisfied with your lifting, film it, and watch it.
