On Saturday, July 30, 2016, more than 1500 walkers, sponsors, and volunteers came together at Genoa Park in Columbus, Ohio. Walk for Wishes® is an annual event held by Make-A-Wish® Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana intended to reach or exceed $80,000 in order to grant the wishes of children battling life-threatening medical conditions.
After participants walk the 1- or 3-mile course overlooking the Scioto river and downtown cityscape, everyone is invited to stay for the post-walk celebration — music, a variety of food, games, and activities.
"Walk for Wishes® is a family-friendly, community walk that raises funds to grant the wishes of children battling life-threatening medical conditions."
We were glad to be a part of this event for the third year in a row. Part of the post-walk celebration, you'll find us in the Kid's Zone. Similar to last year, we transport some of our favorite child-friendly elitefts equipment to get the kids climbing, jumping, running, and sled pulling. New this year, tug-of-war and parachute play helped reach our goal of making our contribution more playful, interactive, and hands-on.
A special thanks to elitefts staff, team members, and affiliates for volunteering their time and energy. Dave Tate, Traci Tate, Lori Nutter, Joe Sullivan, Alycia Israel, JD Nelson, Ashley Nelson, Cameron Nelson, Tori Law, Perry Wallinger, Kevin Caldwell, Alina Tiber... THANK YOU!
As always, we look forward to the 18th Annual Columbus Walk for Wishes.
