#GivingTuesday is less about giving thanks and more about donating time, money, and resources to support those in need.
With Christmas, Hanukah, and Kwanzaa celebrations coming up toward the end of the year, it only makes sense to have a bit of a kick-off event. These holidays tend to inspire some of the greatest acts of giving. #GivingTuesday started in 2012 as a way to kick off the upcoming season of charity and gift-giving. It’s essentially pre-gaming before the biggest sports event ever. A mini-Superbowl party before the actual Superbowl, if you will.
Unlike most small parties, it’s not exactly all that small. There’s no venue or guest list. All are invited to attend via the internet. It doesn’t matter if you’re in the US or UK.
