Lower @ BSG
Today was my last training day at Brute Strength Gym (the only gym that matters!). It was my first time squatting in a while and this actually bothered my wrists more than pressing had, which led to me putting on my super heavy wrist wraps at a whopping 225 lbs on the bar. This definitely made me feel like the polar opposite of a sexual tyrannosaurus. Even with the wraps, I started to do funny things to shift weight off my wrists as the weight got heavier, so I forced myself to be smart instead of going up until something dumb(er) happened when I'm not even training for a comp right now.
Squats
10x45
2x6x135 - Repeated it to try to find a less painful position for my wrists. Was not able to.
2x4x225 - First set really hurt so I added the super heavies and it was fine.
4x315 - And now my damn groin started to nag me, which I had forgotten about til now.
3x365
3x385
2x3x405 - I was able to minimize the groin issue by closing down my stance a little bit, but the wrists were back to barking in full force so the fat lady sang after the second set.
Paused Standing Calf Raise (pause top and bottom)/Incline Reverse Crunches
3x{20x125/15xBW}
It was awesome to be able to train at Brute all the time while I was living down here for school, but now (Friday, that is) it's time to go back home and get ready for Christmas and then the last push for school where I've got a short 3 week Winter semester and then Spring classes til early May before my last 2 clinicals. I'm sad to leave all the awesomeness, but at least I know that I am returning to more awesomeness at home between my garage, Iron Strong CF, and the Unit. I'm also going to miss working at the hospital. It was an amazing experience and I learned a ton and had a blast the whole time I was doing it. I know I'll be back at Brute again sooner or later and hopefully I'll be able to figure out a way to come back down to SLH and see everyone in the rehab department there as well.
