Day 2 of training at the Elitefts S4 Compound, Sunday May 24th, after a day of lower max and teaching kettlebells I was pretty spent but I had to get some confidence in my bench press, 3 weeks out.
BENCH
Bar x 10/10 (trying a different touch position)
75 Lbs x 10
95 Lbs x 5
115 Lbs x 5
135 Lbs x 3 This felt like 200 Lbs I was tired I'm not gonna lie (Help from crew I wasn't staying tight enough)
185 Lbs x 1 (I wanted to use this as an opener but today it was heavy, I was not staying tight enough. I was dropping my shoulders, ugh I have work to do)
185 Lbs x 1 ( Better, tighter but still heavy as hell) Sat was a busy day with 5 hours of training, not an excuse by no means but I'm sure I would do better rested.
135 Lbs ( Holding the weight only staying tight until fatigue)
Ah, now I get it, I have to stay tight ! Why didn't I do that before, Bench has always been my weakest lift but feeling those holds helped my for sure. I will practice those over the next 2 weeks.
Thanks to Molly, Sabrina and Ted for the tips and tricks, I am confident I will get it next meet ! I want a 210 Lb bench, 200 is my P.R. to date.
More kettlebell training with Traci Tate for about an hour then hit the highway home, totally exhausted but feeling confident and humbled by the weekend filled with amazing people, amazing athlete's and an amazing team Elitefts.
