I recently lifted in the 2019 USPA National Championships where I totaled 1769 in wraps at 198 via a 655 squat, 451 bench and 661 deadlift. I'll be lifting at an APF meet in Chicago this December to wrap up the year.

About a week ago I woke up with a really stiff back. Squatting and deadlifting didn't seem to irritate anything, if anything my back got better as my lower sessions went on. Benching on the other hand was AWFUL. Being in extension really pissed off whatever isn't right.

So on Sunday my plan was to work up very slowly and only proceed if it didn't hurt. Started with some light squatting to warm up and everything felt fine. Deadlifting was the same and so was the accessory work. I didn't feel super strong, but nothing hurt. Then I traveled for work, turns out sitting on a couple 8 hour flights was not helpful! I managed to get in with my chiro tomorrow. He's usually an absolute god send so I'm hopeful he can help me get this sorted.

1. Squat - SS Yoke - 2 plates for 3 doubles, just to warm up and figure out if my body was going to tolerate the work. No issues.

2. Deadlift - 495 for ~last warm up, 2 singles. 1 single at about an opener of 585. Looks fine on video, felt fine, no pain. Not super strong, but not terrible.

3. Planks - 90 seconds total

That was it. I needed to pack my stuff to leave for the airport and wanted to get out of the gym while I was still feeling good.
