I have found through trial and error over many years that training Mon, Tues, Thurs, Sat is the best possible organization for my training - most of the time. But as my Monday training includes deadlifting fast with light weight and accommodating resistance (which it usually does not), and my second training day (normally Tuesday) includes deadlifting heavier in my metal jack pro deadlift suit, I have moved my second training day from Tuesday to Wednesday for the duration of this short training block. I should also add that the deadlifting I did today was mostly to get used to being in my suit again. If I had to rate the feeling of the weight I tugged on an RPE scale of 0-10, I would give it a 5 or 6. However, if I had to rate the overall feeling of the deadlifting I did today in terms of difficulty and awfulness, I would have to give it a 7 or 8 since this is the first time I've worn my jack suit since back in November of last year at Maryland's Strongest Man. On the bright side, today went precisely as I had hoped since each set of deadlifts felt better and smoother than the prior set. As my tugs become more like Kieth Stone, I will work on bumping up the el bees.
Axle DL (Metal Jack Deadlift Suit)
10x70
10x160
5x270
3x360
3x360 - Added suit, thought I was gonna die
2x450 - Added belt, knew I was gonna die
5x500 - Forgot how many I had planned on doing, put it down after 3x, then had to reset and restart to do the last 2x.
2x5x520 - The last set was by far the best, easiest, smoothest.
Box Squats (Metal Jack Briefs)
5x45
5x135
3x245
3x335
3x335 - Added briefs
5x385 - Added belt
2x5x425 - Last 2x on last set I lost some tightness in my back.
SS: Bulgarian Split Squats/BB Calf Raises
10ea x BW/20x325
10ea x 25/20x325
10ea x 60/20x325 - I didn't mean to take quite such a large jump in the weight from the second set of BSS to the last set, but it was a 28kg kettlebell and I was too tired to math so all I knew was that it was better than the 40kg kettlebell so I went with it.
