Outside of instagram, it's been a slow two weeks for me as far as social media goes. I have been focusing on a lot of projects lately, and have been dedicating my extra time to getting mentally prepared for my first jiujitsu tournament.

After consulting with my coach, I decided to go ahead and do Provincials this year (which is a huge competition), on December 5th. It's gonna be a real challenge but I am confident and I think I have a really good shot. Thankfully my strength from powerlifting for years has had a good carry-over, and my technique continues to sharpen!

I am pumped to be back to competing. I am on the mats 4x a week now, and lifting 2-3x. My body feels strong and healthy, and I am ready to do some damage!

I have been working recently on wrestling as well as my takedown method of choice. I needed to choose between judo or Greco-Roman/freestyle wrestling for a stand-up game, and I think that wrestling will have the most carry-over for me. I do have a small amount of judo takedown knowledge as well, so it is good to be versatile. I know that my game is top-heavy and I am better at being offensive rather than defensive, so I might as well play that up as much as I can!
