Max effort is a term I'm new to, but I've got a good understanding of the principal- strain.
After three plates I took quarter jumps and worked up to 545 with a close grip on the incline bench. I had the red shoulder saver pad on as well, this was a tricep bench, which is what I'm good at so all though I strained its only 55 lbs off my max bench.
I'm good with leg drive as well, maybe I'll try floor presses again even tho I have the same range of motion as my comp bench, thicc life
