Every year I like to do a “Year In Review”. I don’t believe in resolutions. I believe that every day is a gift and each day you should try and be better than you were yesterday. 2017 for me was pretty damn spectacular.
JANUARY
I turned 55 years old, this granted me the opportunity to get a Senior Discount in some stores. Never treat age as a regret or a omg I’m getting so old. Reap the benefits of your age and enjoy it. Life is short, you never know when it’s your last day. This is my Blog for my year end review for 2016, pretty damn spectacular year too!
January 29, 2017 I coached/handled some great friends at their powerlifting meet. "Enter, JUDGEMENT DAY, THE JOURNEY"
FEBRUARY
Meet prep for the Arnold's 21 deadlift salute was on target and I hit an all time Deadlift PR.
MARCH
"Arnold’s 21 Deadlift Salute Roundup" I have no words for this experience, you have to read my blog to get a feel for it. EPIC comes to mind but an opportunity of a lifetime and one I will never forget.
Mid March, bad news hit with the news I needed a "Total Knee Replacement" That was not going to stop me. I did everything I could for the remainder of the year to manage my knee pain and train smart.
APRIL
I became a Grandmother again. Baby #4 and my Beautiful Granddaughter Eleanor was born. She is now 9 1/2 months old. My heart is full, there is no greater joy for me than being a Grandmother.
Training wise April for me was de-load and back to the bells, her is a great blog on bells and some swing variations.
MAY
We attended at one of the biggest fitness facilities in the province and conducted a Kettlebell Workshop for the trainers. "One Health Club Train The Trainers Workshop" was spectacular. A huge thanks to owner Jamie Don for the opportunity to teach his staff. Ken and I love living, learning, passing on.
JUNE
June was a good month. I had an amazing opportunity to have a photo shoot done with Professor Stu McGill. Some of these pictures were used in his new book called "The Gift Of Injury".
I wrote a top 5 Blog for the ladies and what a great response. "Ladies Do You Pee When You Pull" Another one of my living learning passing on experiences. Kettlebell swings will help with this. Read my blog, try for yourself.
And last but not least, "Team Outlaw Stole The Platform" where Ken and I coached some of our amazing athletes on the powerlifting National stage.
JULY
We attended an amazing life altering seminar in Toronto. "Mark Bell Free Seminar" because the best things in life are free. Want some great tips, checkout my blog.
We also had an amazing "Squat Day Photo Shoot" at our Outlaw Powerlifting Gym. Andrew Pearson attended and took hundreds of pictures of the crew squatting capturing some lifetime PR's of our team. A huge thank you to Andrew for his generosity.
AUGUST
Ken and I celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary. A great tribute to Ken for "Another Year of Always Having My Back"
SEPTEMBER
September was a rollercoaster month. Tragedy hit hard. We lost our Boxer Rogan. One of the hardest days of our lives. Here is "A Tribute To Our Roggie, The Hardest Part Was Saying Goodbye"
My Beautiful Grandaughter turned two years old and oh what a party we had. She is my life, my love and my heart.
Training was going well prepping for my 1st geared powerlifting meet. I hit an "All Time Squat PR" of 436 lbs.
OCTOBER
I entered an "RPS meet, My First Single Ply Meet" and wow what a day. 8 World Records, 8 National Records going 8 for 9 on a pretty amazing day.

November
Ken and I taught one of the biggest workshops ever. "Driven - Pick It Up Kettlebell Workshop" was a huge success. In the small town of Midland Ontario, who knew there was so many eager people to learn about Kettlebells. Over 40 people attended and we had a blast.
We have been so blessed to have such an amazing group of Powerlifters train on our "Team Outlaw". Our Team as a whole had an amazing year and this Article is a tribute to them "Team Outlaw- There is no "I" In Team"
DECEMBER
Ken and I wrote a blog on "The McGill Big 3" . Ken had been assessed by Professor Stu McGill who has become quite the good friend to us. Some back rehab and so much information worth sharing. This blog made the year all time top 10 list. Have a read it could just change your life.
What a year in review. 2018 is looking promising and I will be changing some focus more on personal growth, helping others and becoming pain free and resilent again.
I love looking back on my blogs to reflect on myself, on others I've helped and on the environment which we have created. Surround yourself with people who will help you make a difference. We do and it has come around to help us more than anyone could imagine. Your social circle is your dictionary.
The circle in which you keep will reflect on the person you become. Never stop learning, never stop living, learning and passing on.
