MONDAY BODY WEIGHT 250

So far so good. I have lost 4 lbs in the first three days. Training went well enough. Bench was tough though. I benched really heavy earlier in the week on Sunday at the Elitefts compound. That does not leave me adequate time to recover between benching. That and I did not have a chance to focus on recovery during the week's prior travels.

Squatting is coming along slow and steady. My back and hip are still an issue, but they are slowly getting better. I am staying on top of my psoas stretches which makes the biggest difference. The problem is, it's quite an interesting stretch that I can't just replicate anywhere on the go. Regardless, I am squatting as if every rep is a single and keeping my form meticulous. Even though I am sure I can squat more presently, it would serve no purpose other than helping my ego. So bench princess weights for squats and deads it is.

While at the Elitefts compound I was talking to Julia Ladewski and Alexander Cortes about training. They kind of laughed when the concept of training for hypertrophy sounded so foreign to me. For the most part my size just came as a result of training for sports and powerlifting. I never really focused on building bigger muscles. That got me thinking I should at least put some consideration into it. I don't have a ton of patience for the fluff and buff, but I figured I could just start with some rest pause work with my assistance.

Conditioning was what it was. I got it in. I have no conditioning goals as of right now, but I think after talking with Wendler over the weekend, I will set some. Most importantly I got my two-a-day sessions in.

I would be really psyched if I could get down to 247. That would be my lightest walking around weight since my early twenties. Plus that would give me a little buffer for some vacation weight. Stay tuned.
