Well your fearless narrator is coming off eight days of travel. I did the best I could regarding nutrition. There were not too many lapses. However, I ended up gaining four pounds.

I think a number of things contributed to the gain. First, I was probably higher on sodium as a result of eating almost every meal out. In addition, I did no conditioning other than a little light walking. In the past I would have considered that conditioning, but I am in good enough shape where that won't cut it anymore. Lastly, I missed a few days of training.

In a short amount of time I will be attending a wedding and will also be taking a vacation. I figure this is a perfect time to give myself an eight day blitz to get in better shape. It might not sound very powerlifting manly of me, but I'd like to look good in my new wedding outfit. I'm actually even getting it tailored to show that I now have a waist. Also, considering I will be going away, shedding some pounds prior would not just be good for vanity stake, but it would stem the tide of oncoming weight from said vacation.

So my 8 Day Onslaught will consist of two-a-days. On days when I train with weights I will also be performing some kind of conditioning. On non weight training days I will be performing two conditioning sessions.

In addition to the exercise, I will be monitoring my calories closely. I will stick right in the 2,500 range. The aim for protein will be one gram per pound of bodyweight, so right around 250 grams a day. Usually I just account for the rest of the calories wherever they fall between fats and carbs. However, because of the extra activity I am planning, I will be shooting for low fat and higher carbs. I will need the carbs to fuel the extra conditioning sessions.

So that's it. I'll be updating this pretty much daily so follow along. Let's see what I can accomplish with some good old fashioned hard work.
