Everyone's got one.
But the last time I tried to pay my bills with other people's opinions, it didn't work so well. It was going okay until my electricity got turned off.
So what gives?
Sometimes we just gotta do what we know is best for us and ignore what other people think of us. We can never be liked or appreciated by everyone, so we should embrace our differences and not allow the opinions of others effect our productivity. Otherwise they will have won in the long run. And I refuse to lose.
Some people may have noticed that I am taking an extended break from powerlifting. Unsurprisingly I have gotten some puzzled looks as well as an influx of random questions, which I will address now.
(1) Yes, I still lift.
(2) No, I am not a cardio bunny just because I realize that the health of my heart is important.
(3) I have no idea when my next powerlifting meet will be, or if there will be one.
(4) Yes, I still eat whatever I want.
(5) No, I do not eat meat.
(6) No, I'm not upset that I have lost muscle.
(7) No, I am not making attempts to get it (all) back.
And that's the way she goes. As much as I love powerlifting, a lot has happened in 8 months and my heart just isn't in it right now. We all know it is hard to give 100% when you lack the heart or mind to do so. Jiujitsu has been an amazing breath of fresh air for me, and has allowed me to improve in so many areas physically and mentally. I am forever grateful for my supportive friends and teammates who have pushed me and stuck by me through all my changes. Right now I grapple 4x a week and usually lift 2-3x. If you have other questions for me please feel free to ask!#TeamEliteFTS
