This marks an historic day in my training - the last gym session in the Unit MkIII. My training has been much more brutal than usual the last couple months due to the heat and humidity at all times of day at the Unit. I have tried early AM, a few different times throughout the day, and later in the PM and all of them have the same outcome, that is the conditions I train in are determined by the weather for the day and not by the time of day. And with the heat and humidity we have been experiencing this summer, I feel like a basic b!tch who can't even. So I finally took a step forward in literally making one of my dreams come true and ordered a rack, bench, and some other odds and ends from elitefts for my garage. In preparation for the impending gnarlsplosion I have cleaned out and cleaned up the garage and with some help from Nick I have moved my stall mats and platform from the Unit to my house, along with my old rack and some bars, plates, and other training miscellany. The old rack will be most likely going to one of my training partners when the new one arrives in a few weeks. I will also likely lengthen the platform a couple feet since my new 3X3 power rack will take up a little more of the platform than my old homemade rack of steel channels and square tubes. Needless to say, every time I think about how awesome my garage is going to be in the very near future, I get wood.
3 Position Log Cleans (hips, lap, floor=1 rep)
3x85
2x135
1x185
3x1x225 - Just bloody awful.
BB Strict Press + Split Jerk Complex
press complex x 45
5+2 x 95 - 5 strict presses plus 2 split jerks
2x{8+5 x 145} - 8 strict presses plus 5 split jerks
6+5 x 145 - 6 strict presses plus 5 split jerks, I tried to do touch and go reps on strict press on this set rather than singles with a pause between and it was stupid because I was not coming down into a good starting position so my reps had much less power off my shoulders.
