I recently lifted in the 2019 USPA National Championships where I totaled 1769 in wraps at 198 via a 655 squat, 451 bench and 661 deadlift. I'll be lifting at an APF meet in Chicago this December to wrap up the year.
While I like squatting on Sundays and then benching the next day, sometimes Mondays are rough. After the previous day's heavy work I was feeling pretty hungover but still had high hopes that I would bench well.
Turns out I did.
Bench - Opener(ish) of 415 x 1. Added reverse mini and monster mini band for 465 and a set at 500. 'm very optimistic about my chances of benching something very big in December. Thankfully next week is a planned lighter bench week, my body is getting pretty run down.
Incline - Swiss Bar - 185 x 4 x 8 with a couple chains on it.
Press down - 60 x 4 x 12
Hammer Curls - Green band x 5 x 20
Super happy with this session! I'm a little beat up, right on cue, but super strong. Going about as well as it could be. A quick session with the chiro this morning seems to have resolved a couple issues and I think I am set to finish out this training cycle strong.
