I will probably reference Brett Bartholomew for years to come. Reading and re-reading his book has helped me get through things I've experienced and am experiencing now. Perspective rather. One in particular is work. I love my job, I really do. And when I am able to connect and bond with younger girls in my community, it really makes everything I'm doing worthwhile (and more valuable). I focus on my development and connection with others. But when work becomes 'unrelated', I get frustrated. A few things that have helped me:
1. The importance of aligning your own values
2. Strip away the superficial and get to the root of everything you do
3. Know how to be in touch with yourself. Reflection helps us reconnect. When you think you are in a toxic environment or you work with people who have rigid attitudes, go back to your values. Reconnect, then through inspection, connect with who you want to become, along with traits you want for your future ideal self to adopt. Eventually, progression will manifest.
