No greater feeling than your surgeon saying "Ok, guess I won't need to see you again unless you need me" Progress is Progress". I have full range of motion in my shoulder, lots of strength and I have amazed my surgeon. It was bitter sweet really, great to know I'm healed but being sent on my own now is kinda scary. I just need to be smart with my training.
The only thing I have not been able to do post surgery is snatch a kettlebell. Tonight I decided to give it a try and see how it felt, to my surprise I was able to do it pain free. The bell was only 8 kg (18 lbs) but progress regardless, these baby steps matter for recovery and confidence. Utilizing Kettlebells has been a main source of my recovery from surgery, they are a great re-hab tool.
Seems like there is nothing stopping me now, I need to keep training hard and smart. I will be taking the platform in 2 weeks at the RPS Nationals and doing a fun meet to get back under the bars again, then I plan on competing at the WPC Worlds in November. I hope to be back to where I was last year at this time, I'm still after that 1,000 lb Raw total.
