Moving stuff counts as training...right?
Packed boxes for my move from 10:30am until 4:30pm...kind of overshot my time and wasn't able to make it in for squats, though I did do no-gi drilling for jiujitsu class today.
Tomorrow is move-in day, and after this week I will be able to finally breathe a sigh of relief, My new work schedule will be 10:00am until 5:00pm which is much better for me and allows more room for me to get my training in either before or after work. Just have to focus on getting through the next couple of days and then my life will be back to normal, hopefully!
It was actually incredible to see how much of a difference it makes training without a gi. It is SO much harder to control on the top when you no longer have your grips. It is very good practice for me though, so that by the time I get back in a gi I am not only relying on my grip strength to secure my position. I think that I will definitely try to train both equally so that I am strong from all aspects, and if I ever lose my grips in a gi battle I will at least have some backup knowledge on how to control my opponent using a different method. Definitely very humbling.
So, here's to tomorrow going well. Hopefully all goes well, with no freak accidents or anything. It will be nice to get some benching in for a change.
