Just a quick update for my followers. During the past few months I have been experiencing back pain. You may have read it in a blog or two but I try not to complain about pain.
Unfortunately I know my body and when the pain becomes chronic I know something is seriously wrong.
Lucky for me we are friends with Dr. Stuart McGill. Lucky for me he happened to be at our house this past Sunday. Not so lucky for me he very quickly diagnosed me with a couple bulging discs and nerve impingements.
My prescription right now is to read his book, "Back Mechanic", The step by step McGill Method to fix back pain. I am allowed to do the McGill Big 3, some pushups on a bench and pull ups on a ring, otherwise no lifting at all not even my Kettlebells. I also need to stop being a rammy asshole and stop bending and twisting my back unsafely.
For now I'm trying to comprehend everything. I'm trying to devise a plan to get my back pain free again. I'm going to take Stu's advice of course and stop lifting for now and enter his rehab program. Geez, I sound like an addict. Anything to be pain free again.
So it looks like no Arnold's XPC for me this year or Women's Pro-Am. There will always be another meet, I only have one back.
