I’m currently in meet prep for the RPS Lexen Spring Fling in Columbus, Ohio on May 9th, 2015. I will be competing in my first multi-ply meet, going bench only at 148 pounds.

Saturday I got in a light lower body day to keep things moving and to stay fresh. I still got in my grip work, but everything else was pretty easy. I jumped in under the squat bar with 2 plates, but just did it to keep some technique work around and jump in with the guys. The rest of the work was rather quick paced and just keeping a sweat going. I'm still trying to keep my lower body stimulated, but not develop any soreness or do anything that's going to take away from my recovery going into meet day. Getting work in for a bench only meet has been tough on me thus far as I want to train, and feel good, but I know that it won't help me on meet day and that I need all my resources to go towards a big bench. I'll likely jump back into some training pretty quick after the meet, but it's going to be about two weeks of bodybuilding style of work to really crank volume and blood flow. So it'll likely be until the end of May until I'm back to training heavy and hard for a true off season, as doing four meets in about 15 months will likely leave me just wanting "time off" for a bit. I'm a hard worker and love training, but I know when I need to be in "blast" and "dust", and that it's about making slow steady progress forward. Few more days left until the meet!
