A great road trip with great people!
Ken and Matt Brass asked if I could come down and do some final tweaks on their squats before our meet, The RPS Maple Leaf Nationals, the only non-barnyard multiply meets in Canada!
Shannon had some thing to take care of at home, so she was unable to make the trek. It was myself with Aneta Wilga and Jack "Captain Baby Tummy" O'Rourke (CBT for short) for the 700+ km round trip.
Ken and Sheri have an amazing set up! We always want to do everything when we get there. Staying focused is always the hard part.
Aneta had no plan so I told her what to do lol. She worked up to a PR in squat and bench and smashed 20 lbs less than her PR in the deadlift.
CBT came to squat big and did. Hitting a 425 squat when he was hoping to have a solid 405. Great Job peeps!
I wanted to work up to a heavy single. That would also serve as my likely opener.
This environment is also a great chance to give back to the sport. I have a keen eye for squats. IT's really good at geared squats. Having the chance and the platform to help other gear whores to get better by slight changes is something I love.
I have a pretty routine warm up:
Bar
1 plate
2 plates
3 plates
5 plates - added my Ace briefs
6 plates
7 plates
8 plates
9 plates - 875 lbs total with the heavy bar and collars.
Here is the Video
I also benched in one of the prototype shirts from Metal. The Pro Original. I worked up to 585 which was great because my neck has been really Jacked up lately.
Both of those will serve as my openers for the Meet in June.
I look forward to continuing the Squatting every day. I built Monday in as an off day. Tuesday I will be back with Camber bar squats and Camber bar military
